because i have five bajillion muses, only a few of which i actually play on a regular basis.

so !

if you see a muse you really want to play with but that isn't listed on my active muselist, give me a holler! i'm usually willing to do threads with any character if someone asks. it just might take me a few days to refresh my memory/canon review to the point of comfort. i mostly keep them around because they're fun to bounce off castmates but it's hard for me to do anything else with them.

alternatively, i usually play a lot of people from a few canons, so you can also request a character not listed so long as i'm familiar with the canon!

I think a lot of it is that I'm very used to domestic, daily-life things in my RP, so constantly having to bounce between mini-plots (which is essentially what the curses are, for me) is disconcerting and I can't keep up. Part of it is also the (inavoidable) intermingling of curse posts and normal posts. I kind of have to get into the mood for curses, and I'm oftentimes too lazy to filter through all the posts on the comm and read through for content.

} lack of "newbie week"
....Or however other games do it, idek. Newbie week is basically the week that drives me through the rest of the month. I get really excited over new people, and usually (at least, prior to the RP slump I've been trudging through) newbie posts were how I obtained the majority of my CR, and OOC intro posts are definitely how I connect (or at least get some sense of) who's already in the game. I have noooooo idea any of the characters in Poly. I have no idea who's new and who's not. I'm lacking my usual criteria of how to tag people (and with an extended post pool to choose from) and it's unsettling and it kills my drive to tag people.

} (sort of) lack of action posts
I also don't have a good sense of my setting. There's the map, yes, and the list of locations, but I feel like people so rarely....utilize that? I like having my character randomly hit up a person on the street, start up a convo, and I think Elliot's very much a physical person, but it's harder to do that if the majority of posts are network? And I don't know if that's just because after so many years of post A.C and the nature of the curses, it's just easier to have a network post have replies? I dunno.

Is there one? Are we doing anything with it? idefk in this area, seriously. But yeah, I'm really used to having small things that contribute a sense of something to come. It kind of gives my character added motivation, which...for me...is necessary. None of them like sitting around.

THESE ARE ALL THINGS I COULD FIX (WELL, I COULD FIX MY MINDSET TO THEM) IF I HAD THE TIME/ENERGY/COMMITMENT. BUT GUESS WHAT I don't. T_T

Gonna try putting one of these in journal form, since I can never keep track of Plurk. _@ I'm honestly not sure how much I'm going to get done RP-wise, since I have to deal with finals, then graduation, then job hunting. But I can at least get some sense of where I want to go in the next few months.

➤ IN GENERAL

✷ I'd really just like to get my tagging back up to speed again and not be dishing out one tag a day. Not that I see anything wrong with this pace, but it makes it hard to do follow up threads if I'm still working my way through an older thread since I don't know how it'll fall out.

✷ I'd also like to start being more proactive in getting the CR I want, since a lot of the time I see amazing characters but am too afraid to tag them. THAT WILL HAPPEN NO LONGER. I WILL BE A NEW, IMPROVED VAL ~~what does that even mean~~

✷ Lastly, I'd like to not app anyone for another few months, or at least not anyone I'm not heavily invested in. I honestly don't know if I can handle three characters right now and as much fun as it would be to have shenanigans all over the place, I have to remember that it's okay to say no and that the people I RP with will play with me no matter which character I pick up.
